AMERICANA BAND BLUE MOUNTAIN TO RELEASE TWO FULL LENGTH CDS IN JUNE 2008
On the heels of their successful reunion tour that commenced in the summer and fall of 2007 and fifteen years after their first release, seminal Americana band BLUE MOUNTAIN will go into Elmwood Recording in Dallas, TX, with Grammy-winning producer/engineer Stuart Sikes (Cat Power, White Stripes, Loretta Lynn) to record a full-length CD of new material tentatively scheduled for release in June of 2008. The band will also release at that same time a self-produced CD of new recordings of their old material that was recorded by Andrew Ratcliff at Tweed Recording in Oxford, MS. [more]

THE LEE BOYS AT LANGERADO FESTIVAL ON SATURDAY NIGHT LINE-UP
In the wake of Robert Randolph having to cancel his set at the 2008 Langerado Festival, his friends and fellow sacred steel musicians The Lee Boys will fill his Saturday late-night closing slot on the Swamp Stage on Sunday, March 9th from 12:30-2:30 A.M. Their performance will follow headliners R.E.M., who will grace the Everglades Stage that evening from 9:30-11:30 P.M. The 6th annual festival takes pace March 6-9th in the Big Cypress Reservation in Everglades National Park, Florida. Other performers include Medeski, Martin, Scofield & Woods, 311, Beastie Boys, Ani DeFranco, Gov’t Mule, Ben Folds, Avett Brothers and Phil Lesh & Friends. [more]

LEGENDARY PIANIST CHUCK LEAVELL TO RELEASE DOUBLE LIVE CD SET ON MAY 13, 2008
Chuck Leavell, who has been tagged the “fifth Rolling Stone” and remains one of music's most respected & sought-after pianists of the past 30 years, will celebrate the release of a new double CD set Live In Germany: The Green Leaves and Blue Notes Tour on May 13, 2008 on Evergreen Arts, distributed by RED/Sony. An inductee to both the Alabama and Georgia Music Halls of Fame, Leavell is perhaps best known for his work with The Rolling Stones – a long and prosperous association that began in 1982 and continues today. His piano and keyboard work has also been heard on recordings with the likes of Eric Clapton, The Black Crowes, George Harrison, The Allman Brothers Band, The Indigo Girls, Blues Traveler, Train, Montgomery-Gentry, Lee Ann Womack and many more. The Day Celebration, 2-day music festival, May 9-10, 2008 in Buckhead, GA
The Fare Thee Well Foundation, Inc. is proud to announce the line-up for their second annual The Day Celebration, a two-day music festival that will be held May 9-10, 2008, on the 80-acre Triple B Farm, near the town of Buckhead, GA, that will benefit four Georgia-based charities. Performers include: Col. Bruce Hampton and the Quark Alliance, DubConscious, Blueground Undergrass, The Lee Boys, the Ralph Roddenberry Band, Donna Hopkins Band, Deep Blue Sun, The Squirrelheads, and more. ATHFEST 2008 will be held June 18-22, 2008, in historic downtown Athens, GA, a town long renowned for its thriving music scene. For the past eleven years, this annual music and arts festival has showcased the best in local, regional, and nationally recognized Athens-based talent. Over 150 bands and artists will perform over the course of the weekend, with most performances free of charge to the public. The festival also includes a juried artisan market, the Flagpole Music Awards show, KidsFest, and much more. From 2005-2007, ATHFEST was included in the “TOP 20 Events for June” by the Southeast Tourism Society. [more]
