HYMN FOR HER continues to keep the road hot!
Lucy Tight & Wayne Waxing are HYMN FOR HER, a rockin’ duo that hails from anywhere they can park 16 foot, 1961 vintage Bambi Airstream (comes with dog and baby) as they tour the U.S. coast to coast. Both players are multi-instrumentalists and one tight unit. They describe their music as “stomp-grass punk folk with a hint of Americana.” Lucy plays a three-stringed broom handle/cigar box guitar, banjo and sometimes even a glockenspiel as she shares vocal duties with Wayne, who also plays acoustic guitar, banjo, dobro, and/or harmonica all while handling percussion on bass drum and hi-hat! Bullet microphones and an arsenal of effect pedals give this band a sound like no other. The show is enhanced by a slide show of original photos projected on an old-fashioned slide projector. Where ever they play, this band wins over the audience with their amazing live show that sometimes might include a Led Zeppelin or other classic tune given the Hymn For Her twist! Check out this recent interview/performance on CBS-TV Talk Philly: http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/2011/08/12/hymn-for-her/ Tour dates here: [more]

- - - New CD from KEN WILL MORTON!
Ken Will Morton is a highly acclaimed singer-songwriter based in Athens, GA. He just released his sixth solo effort entitled Contenders on Ghostmeat Records on November 1, 2011. The CD features some of the best players in Athens in a stripped down acoustic setting of acoustic guitars, bass, piano, mandolin, violin and percussion, the perfect accompaniment to showcase Morton’s distinct voice and captivating lyrics. It was recorded and mixed by Russ Hallauer and mastered by John Keane (REM, B-52s). The press loves the new CD! "In describing the music the sound Ken Will Morton's maintained over the course of his short but prolific career, the words 'austere' and 'authentic' generally tend to come to mind...Contenders, the latest in a series of strikingly affecting offerings from this Athens Georgia homeboy, is especially engaging." Blurt.com ""Bob Dylan meets Steve Earle' voice with some impressive instrumentation....Songs like 'Rough and Tumble', 'Powder Keg', and 'Too Soon' tell tales of road living, hard drinking, and down on luck and love losers who keep getting up in the face of adversity. Contenders is worth a listen." Examiner.com :”…one of the best voices in Athens music.” Red & Black “With his drowsy drawl, clever turns-of-phrase and earthy, uncluttered acoustic instrumentation, he’s never sounded better. Richly rewarding…. Stomp & Stammer
